TT Post Launches Culinary Stamp Collection

New Culinary Stamp Booklets for World Food Day

In honor of World Food Day (October 16th), TT Post has launched a new stamp collection – Authentic Cuisine of Trinidad and Tobago.

In collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Land & Fisheries, the collection consists of many traditional dishes unique to T & T including Doubles, Chicken Pelau, Bake and Shark, Chicken Roti and Roast Corn just to name a few.

According to Tricia Scipio, the Philatelic Technical Officer at TT Post, the idea for the stamps came during the Covid Lockdown period. She said, “We were all so depressed, unable to eat some of our favourite local dishes, we thought this would not only inspire our national population but remind us of some of our national dishes that we all love.”

Scipio explained, “World Food Day was timely and we took the opportunity to launch it on this day,” she added, “it is our hope that these stamps reach the homes of every Trinbagonian and remind us of our unique and diverse culinary landscape.”

We must make mention of our partner brand Cup of Joe Caribbean being included in the commemoration with a special presentation of enlarged versions of the collection for the Cup of Joe sets.

A great initiative by Tricia Scipio and the team at TT Post. The stamps are available to the public from Monday 18th October .
